These systems and can be much more economical than the cost of having the main electric grid brought to your remote location. The cost of an bringing in electricity to your property most times offset the cost of installing a solar system, especially in the remote areas.

Available renewable grants are available for installing solar panels on grid connected homes. The newly released HOME RENOVATION SAVINGS rebate program qualifies a Behind-The-Meter connected to grid system for up to $10,000 when batteries are added.
Durham Region offers up to $5,000. Town of Whitby offers up to $5,000 which will be matched with same amount by Durham Region. Therefore, Town of Whitby residents can receive up to $10,000.
